The Foundation is keen to leverage the work and research it is conducting and participating in by making the results available to others. This remains work in progress for the Foundation at this stage, but the intention is to expand its activities to include supporting educational programmes through schools and universities, helping produce film and documentary material, obtaining the involvement of local communities, mounting exhibitions and similar.

We would like to do all we can to enhance the reputation of maritime archaeology in the eyes of the community, government and institutions so as to see more focus and emphasis on the subject through increased research, more university places being offered, and more job opportunities created in the field for those attracted to the discipline.

Whilst this ambition has not yet been realised, it remains firmly on the Foundation’s agenda and both time and resource will be allocated to pursuing the objective in 2010 and beyond.
